About The Avenue Trust
Forty Years of Quiet Service
Since our founding, The Avenue Trust has worked steadily and faithfully to support those most in need across the Boroughs of Southend and Rochford.
Our History
The Avenue Trust was established over 40 years ago by a group of individuals committed to making a tangible difference in their local community. From the outset, the Trust was built on two clear and complementary purposes: to provide housing support for vulnerable and elderly adults, and to strengthen the work of charitable Christian organisations across Southend and Rochford.
Over the decades, the Trust has awarded grants to a wide range of individuals and organisations — from small community projects to established charities — always guided by the same founding principles of compassion, integrity, and faithful stewardship.
Faithful stewardship of resources, in service of those who need it most.
What We Stand For
Housing for Vulnerable Adults
We believe that safe, stable housing is foundational to human dignity. The Trust provides grants to support projects that create or improve housing for vulnerable and elderly adults in our local area.
Christian Community Projects
We support the work of charitable Christian organisations operating within the Boroughs of Southend and Rochford — funding projects that serve the community and express the values of the Christian faith in practical ways.
The Trustees
The Avenue Trust is governed by a small group of dedicated trustees who meet three times a year to review grant applications and oversee the work of the Trust. The trustees bring a range of professional and voluntary sector experience, and are united by a shared commitment to the Trust's charitable objectives.
The trustees serve voluntarily and are committed to the responsible stewardship of the Trust's resources.
